The HMA® secures you up to $2 in medical benefits or more for every $1 above and beyond what you contribute into your plan on a monthly basis as the program progresses. Your HMA® Medical Benefit plan can be used at most any of your medical providers to pay for your out-of-pocket, medical services. This includes your copays, coinsurance and deductibles up to the amount of your available HMA® medical benefits that you have in your plan at the time of the claim.
You can access your HMA® plan benefits to pay for your qualifying medical needs by presenting your HMA® Medical Benefits ID Card at your health care providers at the time of service. A digital version of the HMA® Medical Benefits ID Card will be available in each participant’s member portal. Your providers will then verify both the eligibility of the service and that you have a sufficient amount of medical benefits available in your HMA® plan to pay for this medical expense. No further action will need to be taken by the HMA® participant at their providers. You can check your current amount of HMA® medical benefits any time either on your HMA® member portal or mobile app.
